English Conversation Playgroup – 8th Meetup : 🛒 Market Day!

 

Our eighth meetup will be one of the most exciting events of the season —
“Market Day,” a playful and lively mini marketplace created by the kids! ✨

Children will bring items from home, set up their own little shops,
and experience the fun of buying, selling, and interacting in English.

 

Each family is invited to prepare 3–5 items for sale.
Toys, stationery, mini figures, books—
any small items the children can introduce themselves are perfect.

At the venue, children can decorate a table or set up a mat
to create their own shop space.
They can design price tags, arrange their goods,
and enjoy the feeling of running a real mini market. 🧸📚✨

 

All transactions will be made using USD play money,
and kids will naturally use practical phrases such as:

“How much are you selling this for?”
“I think I’ll buy this.”
“Do you have a discount?”
“Let me check my budget.”
“Sold!”

We’ll also hold a fun Auction Time 🔨💵
where children can choose one special item to auction off,
and friends can bid using their play money.
It’s a playful chance to experience decision-making, interaction, and simple negotiation.

Market Day offers children the chance to explore:
✔ the joy of role-play
✔ the experience of buying and selling
✔ natural communication with peers
✔ real-life style English expressions

이번 여덟 번째 모임은 아이들이 가장 즐거워할 특별한 이벤트,
바로 “마켓 데이(Market Day)” 입니다! ✨

아이들이 직접 만드는 작고 활기찬 미니 시장에서
사고 팔고 대화하며 영어로 자연스럽게 상호작용하는 시간을 가질 거예요.

 

아이들은 집에서 판매할 물건을 가져와
자신만의 작은 가게를 꾸미고,
친구들과 사고팔며 즐겁게 영어로 소통하게 됩니다.

 

각 가정은 3–5개 정도의 판매물품을 준비해주세요.
장난감, 문구류, 미니 피규어, 책 등
아이가 직접 소개할 수 있는 작은 물건이면 무엇이든 좋습니다.

현장에서는 테이블을 꾸미거나 돗자리를 깔아
자기만의 가게 공간을 만들 수 있습니다.
가격표를 만들고, 물건을 배열하며
진짜 미니 마켓을 운영하는 재미를 느껴볼 거예요. 🧸📚✨

 

거래는 모두 달러(USD) 플레이 머니로 이루어지며,
아이들은 자연스럽게 다음과 같은 실용 표현을 사용하게 됩니다:

• “How much are you selling this for?”

• “I think I’ll buy this.”

• “Do you have a discount?”

또한 경매 시간(Auction Time) 🔨💵 도 진행됩니다.
아이들이 특별한 물건 하나를 선택해 경매에 내놓으면,
친구들이 플레이 머니로 자유롭게 입찰해보는 활동이에요.

의사결정, 상호작용, 간단한 협상 경험을 재미있게 배울 수 있습니다.

 

마켓 데이는 아이들에게 다음과 같은 기회를 제공합니다:
